IXS Enterprise is a conceptual interstellar superluminal spacecraft designed by NASA scientist Dr. Harold G. White, revealed at SpaceVision 2008, designed for the goal of achieving warp travel. The conceptual spacecraft would make use of a modified version of the Alcubierre drive. Dr. White is currently running the White–Juday warp-field interferometer experiment in order to develop a proof of concept for Alcubierre-style warp travel, if possible. The Alcubierre drive uses exotic matter (not to be confused with antimatter) to travel faster than light. While the concept had been out since 2008 the design of IXS Enterprise was popularized in June 2015 after a series of media outlets reported on the conceptual artwork done by Dutch artist Mark Rademaker in collaboration with NASA. The energy required to power the warp drive, according to White, is approximately the negative (negative energy is required for the Alcubierre drive concept to function) mass–energy equivalence of Voyager 1, which has a mass of approximately 700 kilograms. Using E=mc2, -700 kilograms of mass is equivalent to ~-63 exajoules of energy (this number is not definitive and can be further reduced). The ship has two thick outer rings (to reduce required energy) that generate the warp field—a contraction of space ahead, and expansion of space behind it. The space inside the rings is optimized to fit more space for cargo, crew and equipment. Milkyway Galaxy image By ESO/S. Brunier - 🤍 CC BY 4.0, 🤍

There are so many places and things to explore in the universe! From distant exoplanets to faraway galaxies that might host intelligent life, to massive black holes, to bright stars. However, there is a problem with space exploration; distance! Everywhere you want to go in deep space is far! For example, Elon Musk wants to put humans on Mars permanently while NASA wants to send astronauts there. However, any traveler going to Mars has to endure a grueling trip through harsh space that lasts not less than five months, even with the most powerful rocket in history! If only we could find a faster way to travel through space! Also, the next star to us is about 4.5 light-years away, making it impossible to visit with the current space technologies! However, an accidental discovery promises to fix that problem by enabling faster than the speed of light travel! What is the discovery, how does it affect space travel, and how does it affect you personally? Join us as we explore how NASA scientists accidentally discover the world's first Warp Bubble! Warp travel is not strange to fans of the Star Trek franchise. The warp drive is a charming futuristic technology from Star Trek Universe, which since its first episode in 1966, includes ten television series and thirteen feature films. In these series and movies, characters explore the universe using powerful and fast spaceships, traveling from planet to planet and communicating with a crew of aliens. The torsion engine is the center of attraction because, without it, the story would be implausible. The universe is strange, unimaginable, and insanely large, and even if you want to visit the next star, the immense cosmic distances create an almost impossible barrier! Let's take a look at the next star, Proxima Centauri, 4.5 light-years away. This distance means it takes 4.5 years to reach the star if you could manage to attain the speed of light! Light flies at full cosmic speed and acts as a sort of universal speed cap, so any other method takes longer! In fact, if you decide to use the fastest space probe ever built, the long journey through the interstellar void would take nearly eight thousand years! So, it makes sense to stay put to Earth and its immediate environment! Of course, the Star Trek crew didn't stay close to the Earth because they found a solution! This solution makes long-distance travel possible by shortening the distance! The torsion engine, using warp drive tech, achieves this by juggling space and time, making for great entertainment! Warp drive was destined to remain imaginary until a scientist suddenly realized that such an engine was really possible at the end of the last century! The physicist was Miguel Alcubierre, and he came up with a theory that rocked the scientific community globally. In 1994, Alcubierre watched an episode of Next Generation while doing his Ph.D. research on Einstein's general theory of relativity, where heavy masses can curve space and time. And so Alcubierre picked up a scrap of paper, did the calculations, and laid the foundation for an article that appeared in the science magazine later that year! In his paper, Alcubierre describes how you can compress space and time in front of a spacecraft and stretch it back behind the ship so that you have to travel a much smaller distance to the desired destination safely trapped in what he calls a torsion bubble! In visualization, the concept was compared to a surfer riding a wave and a metaphor often used to describe how a ship could travel the stars. There is, however, a problem with Alcubierre's warp bubble! You see, the warp engine is tough to build in reality! You can't just curve space forcefully with normal mass! To do so, you need exotic matter, which has negative gravity! Dozens of Warp Engine publications would follow in the following decades. But they also remained theoretical exercises and thought experiments that manipulated the formulations of the theory of relativity in search of new insights. The need for the foreign matter remained! That was until Eric Lentz, a physicist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the US, stepped in. He watched Star Trek as a kid. However, he has not been able to forget

While that sounds interesting, the time the journey takes will discourage many. Using current rockets, the shortest time to get to the Red Planet is five months! And you will have to target a small window that comes once in two years! While this piece of information might not mean anything to most people, for Elon Musk, it means the failure or success of one of his passionate dreams; setting up people to live permanently on Mars! To make the travel to the planet more bearable, one of the options Musk is considering is Warp Drive which promises to reduce the trip time by a large order of magnitude! What is Warp Drive, and how fast can it help Musk put people on Mars? Join us as we dive into how Musk reveals the Warp Drive Starship! Musk has been pushing SpaceX to speed up the development of the Starship! He even asked his engineers to sacrifice their Thanksgiving weekend to fix a problem on the Raptor rocket engine that powers the Starship! While it is a big deal to some of the employees and other non-SpaceX employees, working through the weekend does not faze Musk, who has slept on the factory floor of his companies before! There is a reason Musk wants the Starship to be done as soon as possible! This is because, while NASA is content to wait until 2033 to send an astronaut to Mars, Musk wants to do so by 2026, which is just five years away! While you might dismiss the goal as Musk is being over optimistic as usual with his target, the billionaire CEO has a worst case scenario of putting humans on Mars by 2031, which is still two years earlier than NASA's best plan! Apart from this, Musk thinks there is a window of opportunity available for humans to become inter planetary, and this is the first time the opportunity is possible for humanity. He wants to use the chance quickly as he is unsure the window will be available for long! When you are planning to move one million people from the earth to Mars as Musk wants to do within a short time, there are several things to need to consider, which we will briefly look at! The first is cost. The first thing to note is that simply having money, tonnes of it, will not get you to Mars! As Musk said while on Lex Friedman's interview, even with a trillion dollars, right now, you can't fly to Mars! You need the right technology, like the Starship that SpaceX is building! Even with the right technology, space travel is expensive! In fact, anything involving rocket launches is costly! That is because of the nature of rockets, which are traditionally one-time-use vehicles. This mode of using rockets is ridiculous, as Musk pointed out. It is like buying a new car every time you want to go out! While it is mad expensive to do so, it is also complicated because you need a new car built to go out! Most people won't be able to afford going out if that is the only way to use cars, which sort of is what you get with space travel today that only the ultra rich can indulge in! Obviously, that won't work for Musk, who claims there is a particular cost per ton to go to Mars that will ensure the city established there can sustain itself. Besides, there might not be enough ultra rich volunteers willing to relocate to Mars, so the price has to come down for most people watching this video to even consider it! However, if there is any company that can reduce the cost of space wandering, it is SpaceX! The company already has a reusable rocket, the Falcon 9. But it is only partially reusable. The booster comes back and land, but the upper stage is written off, which adds at least 10 million dollars to each launch cost! This brings the launch cost to between 15 and 20 million dollars without accounting for overhead. However, with a reusable spacecraft like the Starship, Musk says you can reduce the cost by a factor of a hundred, meaning you could have launches of under two million dollars! This is the cost to orbit, and obviously, the cost to Mars will be more. But if you do the maths by dividing the total costs by the number of people the Starship can carry, which is between 70 and 100, a trip to Mars is not so expensive! In fact, Musk has claimed if you want to relocate to Mars, you can fund your ambition by selling your house! However, even with the lowest price, there is another factor you have to consider when going to Mars, time! Apart from astronomical costs, distance is another barrier to deep space jaunts! Like it has been mentioned in this video, you need to budget at least five months of your life to travel to Mars. This could stretch into a year, depending on when you take off. Now, what could happen if you spend five months in space?

Behold The Future...The IXS Enterprise is NASA’s blend of real ‘warp drive’ technology and Star-Trek science-fiction. While they differ significantly, both Star Trek and Star Wars rely on “warp speed” technology to move characters around their respective fictional galaxies. According to a recent report from NASA’s 100 Year Spaceship Program, warp speed could become a reality, and a NASA engineer and his collaborator has recently unveiled CGI plans for a ship that could travel at warp speed. Dubbed the IXS Enterprise, the ship looks a lot like its namesake, the USS Enterprise from Star Trek. “We wanted to have a decent image of a theory conforming Warp ship to motivate young people to pursue a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) career,” ship designer Mark Rademaker told The Washington Post. “It does have some Sci-Fi features that might never transfer to a possible final design, unless we really want to.” Using "warp drive" technology... Capable of interstellar travel over the course of weeks and months, the proposed technology would create a “warp bubble” around a ship by expanding space-time behind the ship and contracting space-time in front of it. While the ship wouldn’t move by traditional propulsion, the passengers inside would perceive movement. "Remember, nothing locally exceeds the speed of light, but space can expand and contract at any speed," NASA physicist Harold White told io9. "However, space-time is really stiff, so to create the expansion and contraction effect in a useful manner in order for us to reach interstellar destinations in reasonable time periods would require a lot of energy." How much is “a lot of energy”? Well, White’s initial concept called for an amount of energy equal to the mass of the planet Jupiter. "However," White said, "based on the analysis I did the last 18 months, there may be hope." After performing some recalculations of his original work, White concluded his warp drive could be powered by for an amount of energy equal to the mass of NASA’s Voyager probe. These new calculations mean a warp drive is plausible. A proof-of-concept study is the next step to showing a warp drive is possible. "Mathematically, the field equations predict that this is possible, but it remains to be seen if we could ever reduce this to practice,” White said. 🤍

Checkout Engineered Labs 🤍 🤍 The Alcubierre Warp Field and Anti Matter [2020] The Alcubierre warp field as described by Miguel Alcubierre would help us surpass the speed of light many times which means that if we had a ship that could go 10 times the speed of light, it would take only 153 days to reach Proxima Centauri. Much more reasonable I would say. But building a warp drive is not an easy task. Miguel Alcubierre is a theoretical physicist famous for the Warp Field theory. In May 1994 he published a paper titled “The Warp Drive: Hyper-fast travel within general relativity” however, his goal with this paper, contrary to popular belief had little to do with warp drives, it was to show that a distortion of space and time is indeed possible within the realms of general relativity, and therefore we could travel faster than the speed of light. Until now, the ability to travel faster than the speed of light has only been seen in Sci-Fi movies. What if we can actually make that a reality! If we ever hope to visit other parts of our galaxy, we'll have to travel at speeds we've never imagined. A possible solution to the problem of traveling at the speed of light or even faster is the "warp drive" popularized by Star Trek, the sci-fi franchise still ongoing. Therefore, if we could find a way to bend or warp spacetime, we would be able to move around the cosmos in the blink of an eye. Although, warp drives have mostly remained the preserve of science fiction. However, a number of new discoveries by a German physicist about the nature of space and time imply that Einstein's purportedly unbreakable speed limit may not be so unbreakable after all. Does that mean it is possible to travel faster than the speed of light by warping spacetime? And in doing so, have we also discovered the key to exploring the universe? Fair Use Disclaimer 1. Scientists claim to have developed a physical model for a warp drive in a shocking new publication, which contradicts what we have long believed about the absurd idea of warp speed travel: that it necessitates strange, negative forces. NASA's Eagleworks Laboratories achieved the first scientific demonstration of a functional warp drive in 2008. Theoretically, a warp drive enables travel at speeds greater than the speed of light. "Warp fields" is another name for warp drives. Although warp drives have been theoretically possible for many years, they have just lately been physically realized by scientists. One day, when people can reach other planets in a matter of days rather than months or years, we may witness the first commercial application of a warp drive. Scientists FINALLY Discover a New Way To Travel 10 Times Faster Than Light Ever since the sound barrier was broken, the attention of achieving the next breakthrough was therefore turned towards breaking the light-speed barrier. But physics seems reluctant to allow humans to travel as fast as light. Even though it might be impossible, if we think outside the box, instead of trying to comply with rules of physics, perhaps there’s a way to bend time and space to our will. Creating a vehicle that would allow traveling at speeds greater than that of light, by equipping it with a superluminal spacecraft propulsion system seems more conceivable. You’ve heard of it before if you’ve ever seen a sci-fi space flick. It’s called warp drive. While the concept has been quite popular more in science fiction, the seemingly fictional idea may not be as unrealistic as scientists once thought. In this video, you’ll learn the details of how us Earthlings are on the verge of traveling 10 times the speed of light. Welcome back to Space Infinity. Music: The Wolf and the River by Dhruva Aliman - Amazon- 🤍 - 🤍 - 🤍 - 🤍 - Spotify - 🤍 ...NASA engineer and physicist Harold White announced a few years ago that he was working on a potentially groundbreaking idea that could allow space travel faster than the speed of light. Yes, like in “Star Trek.” And now, to boldly go where no designer has gone before, Mark Rademaker — who is collaborating with White — has created a CGI design concept for the “warp ship.” They’re calling it the IXS Enterprise. “We wanted to have a decent image of a theory conforming Warp ship to motivate young people to pursue a STEM career,” Rademaker said in an e-mail interview. “It does have some Sci-Fi features that might never transfer to a possible final design, unless we really want to.” A warp ship such as the IXS Enterprise could allow travel to interstellar space in a matter of weeks rather than, say, centuries. And the science behind why it might be possible is truly mind-boggling. An over-simplified explanation is that the concept seeks to exploit a “loophole” in Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity that allows travel faster than the speed of light by expanding space-time behind the object and contracting space-time front of it. Io9 explains more: Essentially, the empty space behind a starship would be made to expand rapidly, pushing the craft in a forward direction — passengers would perceive it as movement despite the complete lack of acceleration. White speculates that such a drive could result in “speeds” that could take a spacecraft to Alpha Centauri in a mere two weeks — even though the system is 4.3 light-years away. White, whose title is “Advanced Propulsion Theme Lead for the NASA Engineering Directorate,” has mathematically calculated a plausible way to accomplish this using far less energy than required by the original theory, which was proposed in 1994 by physicist Miguel Alcubierre. His concept requires using large rings that surround the spacecraft (which you can see in the image above) to greatly reduce the amount of energy needed to warp space-time in front of and behind the spacecraft. “The rings are most important as they will form the Warp bubble,” Rademaker said in his e-mail. “The way they are designed now will reduce the energy requirement needed to form the bubble. (By quite a large factor.) Also we tried to fill up as much space within the rings, it’s expensive to leave that open or unused.” White and his team at NASA’s Eagleworks Labs are now working to create a “proof of concept” for this idea. So how quickly can this all become a reality? According to White, in an interview with i09, proving that the math can become a reality in the lab is the first and probably most important step in the process: What White is waiting for is existence of proof — what he’s calling a “Chicago Pile” moment — a reference to a great practical example. “In late 1942, humanity activated the first nuclear reactor in Chicago generating a whopping half Watt — not enough to power a light bulb,” he said. “However, just under one year later, we activated a ~4MW reactor which is enough to power a small town. Existence proof is important.” #hyperspace #lightspeed #spaceship

Is it possible that Elon Musk and NASA have finally defied the law of physics with their latest development? Perhaps they have because NASA is on the verge of creating a near-light-speed engine that defies physics laws, a concept for an engine that can accelerate to 99 percent the speed of light without using any fuel. That might sound like something out of a science fiction film, but it is not. One of NASA's engineers is working on something similar, and it has the potential to defy physics. What are the plans for these engines? What will it use as fuel if it can't use propellant? Will a human be able to travel in a vehicle with a thruster like this? Is the possibility for fast space travel already here? These are the questions going through most people's minds at the moment. So, in today's video, we'll find out the answers to these questions and more. So ensure that you watch to the end. You don't want to miss out on anything. Kindly subscribe and turn on the notification feature if you haven't already done so. Let's get started, shall we? Humanity has dreamed of crossing the astronomical distances separating us from the ultimate alien destinations for centuries, ever since we realized that every star we see in the night sky is a Sun just like ours, with possibly its solar system, planets, and maybe even life. Even the closest star is more than four light-years away, while NASA's Juno mission achieved the fastest speed a human-built spacecraft has ever traveled at, that is at 74 km/sec (46 mi/sec). Even at that rate, reaching the nearest star would take more than 4,000 years. We have a problem with our human drive to travel everywhere and examine everything in space. This is a significant problem. After all, it is space. It's way too big. Even if we traveled at the fastest possible speed, it would take us years to reach our nearest star. Elon Musk's private spaceflight business SpaceX was founded with the idea of making life multi-planetary. He claims that relocating humans to other worlds, such as Mars, could save humanity in the event of a calamity on Earth, such as a massive asteroid hit. In 2016, Elon Musk said that there would be two paths for history to take. One option is that we stay on Earth indefinitely, with an ultimate extinction event. The alternative is to become a spacefaring civilization, and a multi- planet species, which he hopes we would agree is the right way to go. The SpaceX founder has frequently expressed his desire to develop settlements on Mars. Payments, he says, would require a significant number of people to become self-sustaining. To make this fantasy a reality, a capable automobile is needed. Still, the current limits of our technology and physics laws are the two limiting factors of space travel. Advances in fields such as laser sails, nuclear rather than chemical propulsion, or producing and controlling antimatter or dark matter could provide a game-changing technological breakthrough, and they appear to be close. Another human desire is to find solutions to significant problems. NASA engineer David Burns has been doing precisely that in his spare time. He claims to have built an engine that can accelerate to 99 percent the speed of light without fuel. He has posted it to NASA's Technical Reports Server under the name "Helical Engine," It works on paper by exploiting how mass may change at relativistic speeds, which are close to the speed of light in a vacuum. It hasn't been professionally reviewed yet. This story has created curiosity comparable to that seen in the early days of the EM Drive, which is understandable. Yes, there have been reports that the engine may 'defy physics.' To put things in perspective, the EM Drive was NASA's initial step into the idea of really trying to develop a faster-than-light engine. So, what exactly is the EM Drive? EM Drive is a radio frequency resonant cavity thruster concept first developed in 2001 by Roger Shawyer, a British Chartered Electrical Engineer with 48 years of experience in the Space and Defence industries. Internally reflected microwaves are said to generate thrust, violating the law of conservation of momentum and other fundamental considerations. The device has been dubbed the "Impossible Drive" by the media. Explanations for how the EmDrive might work go beyond what is known about physics. Perhaps it's interacting with the vacuum energy of space- quantum time, even though space-quantum time doesn't allow anything to push off of it. Interstellar travel interstellar travel possible reaching galaxies NASA space science space news elon musk spacex starship what if faster than light. Alcubierre drive alcubierre drive simulation alcubierre warp drive warp drives nasa news tech news warp drive invented Dr Harold G White tech space travel. Former NASA scientist and 'warp drive' expert Dr Harold G "Sonny" White claims to have made a breakthrough discovery that may one day let us build a warp-speed spacecraft and get to Mars even quicker than Elon Musk plans. His team at the Limitless Space Institute had been researching complex nano-scale structures and mind-bending quantum physics that had nothing to do with building a super-fast warp drive. Then one day, they suddenly made what Dr White calls 'an accidental discovery': a 'warp bubble' that could pave the way for real-life warp engines. The team discovered a 'nano-scale' structure that Dr White said: one could build that will generate a negative vacuum energy density distribution that is very similar to what's required for [a] space warp. As White and his team are focused on their original project, they have no plans to build a warp drive any time soon. However, they have proposed several further experiments to work out how to build a functioning warp engine. They are building a small engine as an experiment to understand how a warp bubble can help to generate warp drive with a warp engine. They plan to string together these 'warp bubbles' into a chain so researchers can better understand the physics behind them—and pave the way to work out how to make an actual spacecraft out of them. So what do you think? as Predicted by NASA will reach the next Galaxy to an exoplanet in just 100 years? As warp drive is just a few years away in reality? Thanks for watching.
